Friday Morning Wrap

April 24th, 2009 | by Brandon Wilson |

Ugh, another series loss. Since opening with a three game sweep of the Indians at home, the Rangers have lost every series and are now three games under .500 at 6-9. I might have to start watching the Mavs… alright that’s just ridiculous, but this team is in danger of once again losing the Dallas/Ft. Worth fan before April ends.

In his game summary, Jeff Wilson talks to Millwood about what was his worst outing of the year, but as he points out it was still good enough to give them a chance. The offense, however, was absent. This team just is not finding ways to win right now.

Maybe some minor league info will cheer us up. Check out Mike Hindman’s Minor League Report over at Inside Corner. He compares Justin Smoak’s start at Double-A to Mark Teixeira’s. Nothing against Chris Davis (who currently has one more home run than Josh Hamilton this season), but I can’t wait for Justin Smoak to get here. He good.

The Rangers are showing interest in Pedro Martinez? Really?

Rangers left Toronto and will be in Baltimore tonight for a 6:05 start time. Texas lost two of three at home to the Orioles last week. Maybe they can return the favor this weekend. Go Rangers!
