My name is Brandon Wilson and as the Texas Rangers Correspondent for the Fanball Blog Network, it will be my job to track this team’s development as the pieces of the puzzle come together from what is widely regarded as the best farm system in baseball. Having grown up listening to Rangers baseball on the radio throughout the ’80s it was a big thrill for me when the Rangers made the playoffs in ‘96, ‘98 and ‘99. This year is the first time since the turn of the century that there really seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel. In fact the recent call-up of Derek Holland and his more than solid major league debut represented one more step towards the goal of building a team that can be competitive for and eventually a division title.
In this space, a good chunk of time will be spent on the daily happenings of the big league club. In addition, there will be plenty of prospect talk mixed in since there is plenty to be excited about in Oklahoma City, Frisco, Bakersfield and Hickory.
